Description: The CDC now recommends that people aged 75 and older receive RSV vaccinations, while those aged 60-74 should only get vaccinated if they are at higher risk for severe illness. RSV is a common virus that causes cold-like symptoms but can be dangerous for infants and older adults. An advisory panel declined to more strongly recommend the vaccines for all Americans aged 60 and up due to questions about side effects and duration of protection. Last year, the FDA approved single-dose RSV vaccines for people aged 65 and up.
