Description: On August 13, 2013, Pine Ridge residents voted to legalize alcoholic beverage sales on the reservation. The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, located in southwest South Dakota, is one of the poorest tribal reservations in the United States, with an unemployment rate of over 80%.nnDespite the fact that all alcoholic beverages were banned on the reservation for at least 100 years, it is estimated that 60%+ of all adults on the reservation suffer from alcohol abuse. Worse yet, the infant mortality and
