Description: 29 January 2021 -- WELLFLEET, MA -- From Nov. 3, 2020 through the end of the calendar year, staff at Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary worked with nearly 200 volunteers to rescue or recover more than 1,000 cold-stunned sea turtles along the Cape’s shoreline. 2020 not only marked the second busiest season in the program’s history, but also saw the highest ever number of live, rescued turtles admitted to rehab.
